On September 28, I’ll be doing a Winter Surf Fly Fishing presentation at the Fishermens Spot in Van Nuys at 12:00 pm. I’ll cover the differences between summer and winter tides/species and gear. It coincides with Project Healing Waters Healing Saturday. You’ll be able to sign up, pay a fee that goes to PHW to learn how to tie specific flies in a 3 hour class given by local tiers. I’ll be doing one in the afternoon session (1:30pm), supplying all materials needed and going over my checkerboard and soft shell sand crab flies. Maybe a third fly if we have the time.
